Looking for something vegan in place of ground beef?  Use in wraps, in sauce or as a burger

  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 red onion
  • 2 stalks celery
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1 can black beans drained
  • 1 tbs white miso
  • 1 tbs tomato paste
  • 1 tbs garlic powder
  • 1 tbs turmeric
  • 1 tbs paprika
  • 1 tbs white pepper
  • 1 tbs black pepper
  • 1/2 cup cilantro
  • 2 1/2 cups basmati rice
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  1. Dice up the celery, red onion and bell pepper

  2. Cook the vegetables in a medium skillet.  Add the miso,  garlic powder, turmeric, paprika, white and black pepper, water and cook until vegetables are done to your liking

  3. Put the rice, beans, tomato paste, cilantro in a food processor and pulse until well combined

  4. form the burgers or shape into balls, for a ground beef substitute leave as is

  5. cook the burgers or balls in either the oven or on the stove top.  Cook until the underside is browned, then turn and cook the other side until browned.

  6. IF BAKING --- preheat oven to 350 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.  Put the patties or balls on the lined baking sheet and bake for about 20 minutes until browned and firm

  7. IF A GROUND BEEF SUBSTITUTE --- put into non-stick skillet with some coconut oil and cook until browned and crumbly.
