Homemade Pizza Sauce

If you like pizza then your going to love this homemade pizza sauce. So easy to make and so delicious. You can use this on eggplant pizza’s, cauliflower pizzas or even on homemade english muffin pizzas.

You can make this ahead and put in an airtight container and put in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. It can be frozen but in a freezer safe container.

Sure it would be easier to go to the store and buy a jar of pizza sauce, but look at the ingredient list. Added salts, artificial flavoring and colors. Don’t forget all those other ingredients with letters and numbers that are there to prolong the shelf life.

This sauce takes about 30 minutes to make and like I said you can make it ahead. Make a bigger batch and freeze some for later use.

  • 1 1/2 tsp olive oil
  • 1/2 mediium sweet onion diced
  • 4 garlic cloves minced
  • 2 8 oz cans tomato sauce no salt
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp himalayan pink sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  1. Heat 1 1/2 teaspoons olive oil in a pot over medium heat. Once hot, add the diced onion. Sauté until soft, about 4 minutes. 

  2. Add the garlic and sauté for another 2 minutes. Garlic should be golden and fragrant and onions should be soft. 

  3. Add the tomato sauce to the pot and all seasonings. Stir. Once sauce begins to bubble, reduce heat to medium low. Let cook for at least 15 minutes
